Join the challenge and explore new stories by reading or listening to books, participating in Library book clubs featuring How to Read a Book by Monica Wood and attending Local Author Series events. Track your progress, earn points along the way and unlock opportunities to win a prize.

How to
Participate

  1. Read, Listen & Engage

    Read books, listen to audiobooks and attend Library book clubs and Local Author Series events during the challenge.

  2. Log Your Activities Online

    Enter your reading and activities in the online portal. Your points will be counted automatically.

  3. Two Opportunities to Win Prizes

    The three participants who earn the highest number of points will each win a prize. All other participants who earn at least five points will be entered into a prize drawing.

Only entries submitted through the online portal count and must be entered by 11:59 p.m. on Monday, January 4, 2027.

Guidelines

  1. All Miami-Dade Public Library System cardholders ages 19 years and older may join the Bookmarked Reading Challenge between Monday, November 2, 2026, and Monday, January 4, 2027. Don’t have a library card? Sign up for a library card online or visit any library location.

  2. Read, listen to audiobooks and attend Library book clubs and Local Author Series events to earn points.

  3. Track your reading and activities through the online portal, where your points will be automatically counted. You can download a copy of the reading and activity log  to keep track of your progress before entering your reading and activities into the online portal. Only reading and activities submitted through the online portal will be counted. All entries must be submitted by 11:59 p.m. on Monday, January 4, 2027. If you need assistance entering your submissions, please visit any library location.

  4. The three participants who earn the highest number of points will each win a prize. All other participants who earn at least five points will be entered into a prize drawing. Participants may win only one prize.

  5. Prize winners will be notified by Friday, January 8, 2027. Winners who do not respond to the notification by Friday, January 15, 2027, may forfeit their prize and an alternate winner may be selected.

  6. Participants and prize winners will be recognized at Bookmarked: A Festival of Authors, Readers & Book Clubs on Saturday, January 23, 2027, at the Main Library. Participants attending the Festival may also collect a Reading Achiever Medal, while supplies last.

  7. Employees of the Miami-Dade Public Library System are ineligible to win a prize.
